Suggested edit: Remembering PFC Kenneth C. Karsen, a 18-year-old hero who gave his own life to liberate towns he didn't know, and people he didn't know. During WWII, Kenneth said goodbye to his beloved parents, Charles and Anna, and served his country with the 141st Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. He confronted German forces in Italy (where he was wounded in May 1944) and then participated in Operation Dragoon, the Allied invasion of southern France (launched on August 15, 1944). Despite his young age, Kenneth displayed remarkable courage and showed an outstanding determination, but on August 24, 1944, he was mortally wounded by enemy fire and died in the arms of a comrade.
