Two Brisbee soldiers, brothers were killed in action during WW2. They were Pvt.Felipe V Hirales and Ralph Hirales both sons of Mrs Guadalupe Hirales. Felipe was killed during a battle in the South Pacific area in 1942 and his brother was killed in action in the European Theater in 1944.

He was serving in B Company of the 509th. He was killed in the battle for Hill 84 or as it was known as Castle Hill near La Napoule. In all the company would lose 10 of the 13 killed during the battle. It is believed he was actually killed on 21 Aug as were the rest of the casualties. The mistakes in the dates of death are probably due to a mix-up in paperwork at some point in the administrative process. Eyewitness accounts and period documents such as medal citation and burial reports indicate that most if not all were killed 21st August
