They anticipated the Americans would go into the large nice-looking empty house and take up quarters. The others killed were Pvt Alton Allen, Pvt John Fouts, PFC Daniel Ogniewski and Pvt Walter Vandrpool. Five others were injured including one, Floyd Polk, who lost a leg.
