Buried: Plot A, Row 10, Grave 9.

KIA along with four others in the blast of a booby trapped house in the Sospel. The German engineers had rigged it with a time delayed device. They anticipated the Americans would go into the large nice-looking empty house and take up quarters. The others killed were Pvt Alton Allen, Pvt John Fouts, PFC Daniel Ogniewski and Pvt Walter Vandrpool. Five others were injured including one, Floyd Polk, who lost a leg.
