Casualty of the Great War,James aged 19, was a Second Lieutenant.

His brother,Second Lieutenant Leslie Montrose Ekin , M.C., aged 22, also fell. Interred at BLIGHTY VALLEY CEMETERY, AUTHUILLE WOOD - Grave Reference
V. C. 13.

Both served with the 8th (Service) Battalion, the York and Lancaster Regiment and died on the same day.

They were sons of James and Josephine Alice Ekin of De Walden Court, Meads, Eastbourne, Sussex, England.
