US Congressman. He was a clerk in the Manufacturers Trust Company in New York City, (1935-39) and with the Crucible Steel Corporation of America, (1940-42). During World War II, he served as a Master Sergeant in the US Army Air Force, in the South Pacific, until discharged in 1946. In 1947, he was elected as a Republican to the Eightieth Congress, serving until 1949. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he took a position as head clerk for Solomon Brothers and Hutzell Company New York City, until his death at age 58.
