The service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Christ (Roth's) Lutheran Church, 580 Roth's Church Road, Spring Grove. Burial will be in St. Peter's (Lischey's) Church Cemetery, Spring Grove RD 5. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Sauter-Irwin Funeral Home, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, is in charge of ar rangements.
The Rev. Robinson was born Sept. 22, 1955, in Philadelphia. She was the daughter of John G. Robinson of Philadelphia and Betty J. (Miller) Downs of York.
She served in several churches in the Chicago area and was presently pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Robbins, Ill., where she was a member of the South Side Pastors Group. Prior to that, she was a part-time associate to the bishop of the Chicago Metro Synod. She was a 1973 graduate of West York Area High School, a 1976 graduate of Lock Haven University, and a 1993 graduate of Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. She attended San Francisco State University. She was a member of the African American Lutheran Association Anti-Racism Team in Chicago; the ELCA Women of Color and Leadership Lab; she was also an ELCA leader of national youth gatherings. She was a member and former chairperson of South African Network; a member of the ministry team of the Chicago Metro Synod; a board member of the Emmaus Center in Chicago; a supervisor of pastoral interns for the Chicago Metro Synod; and a creator of the Women's Center at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Chicago. She was a member of the Multi-denominational Task Force of the United Council of Churches created to monitor the first democratic elections in South Africa in 1994.
The Rev. Robinson also is survived by a sister, Kathy M. Robinson of York.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Robert W. Sassaman, pastor of Christ (Roth's) Lutheran Church in Spring Grove.
