Son of the late Walter Boyes Ashcroft and Emma Marion Ashcroft of 33 Sheffield Street, Coburg, Victoria. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 21 February 1916. He was killed in action in France, aged 23 years.

Walter Benjamin Ashcroft
survived the Great War but suffered a double amputation.
