Birth.
George Albert Pickles, son of Ernest Henry Pickles and Jane Pickles, formerly Clinton, was born on 21 April 1889, at Gibraltar.
He became a pupil at The Royal Hibernian Military School, Phoenix Park, Dublin, wher he was enumerated in the 1901 census, taken on the night of 31 April/1 April 1901
George A. Pickles, aged 11, born in Gibraltar. upon completion of his primary education, he joined The Royal Engineers on 27 May 1903, at Dublin.
He was discharged on 15 June 1914 as a Second Corporal, but recalled from the Reserve at the start of the War. He arrived in France on 14 August 1914 as a Corporal. He later reverted to Private, and died of natural causes on 8 May 1917, at Mory, South of Arras.
