Joseph served in the 2nd Field Regiment of the RCA which was in Agira on the 6th of August 1943. Joseph was severely injured in action. He was transferred to the No1 Field Dressing Station which was set up in Agira and was overcrowded with battle casualties. Joseph succumbed to his wounds on the 7th of August and was buried in Agira.
Joseph enlisted on the 16th of September 1939 in Moncton.
