Mrs. Fred Groff
Obit Listing From DuQuoin Tribune
March 6, 1903

Mrs. Fred Groff died at her home in this city, Friday, February 27th at 7 o' clock a. m.
Her age was 41 years, 7 months and 15 days. The cause of her death was consumption. Funeral services were conducted at the family residence, corner North and Line streets, at 2 p. m. on Sunday, March 1, and were largely attended. Mrs. Groff was the eldest daughter of Thos. and Elizabeth Kingcade, and was born and reared in our city. She was a good wife and a kind mother. Beside her husband and six children, she leaves a father, three brothers, Abram, Arthur and Lee Kingcade; and two sisters, Mrs. Belle Wilcox, of Campbell Mo., and Mrs. Abbie Dew, of our city. Mrs. Dew and father were visiting in Missouri at the time of Mrs. Groff's death; being in the country near Ozark, the telegram sent Friday morning did not reach them to permit of their attending the funeral. They arrived home Tuesday. We unite with friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
