IRVINE, CHRISTOPHER THEODORE CORRIE, Lieutenant, 25th Punjabis, youngest son of the late Inspector-General Gerard James Irvine, R.N., by his wife, Henrietta (St. Andrew's, Naini Tal. India), daughter of William Byrom Corrie, of Cheltenham, and nephew of Charles Edward Robert Alexander Irvine, of Drumgoon Manor, co. Fermanagh; born 27 Jan. 1889; gazetted 2nd Lieutenant to the Connaught Rangers, from the Social Reserve, 11 Dec. 1909, and promoted Lieutenant 11 Feb. 1911; transferred to the Indian Army in Aug. 1912, serving temporarily with the 25th Punjabi Cavalry; went to the Dardanelles, and was killed in action there, 28 June, 1915; unmarried. His eldest brother Captain Gerard Byrom Corrie Irvine, Bopal Infantry, was wounded in the early part of the war.
