S-Sgt. Glen McGuire of Brownwood died Dec. 13, 1944 when struck by fragments of an artillery shell that landed near his position, his aunt, Mrs. R. M. Fitzgerald, 3025 South 11th learned Wednesday.

Mrs. Fitzgerald earlier had been informed that he was missing and presumed dead, but this was the first definite word that he was killed. His parents are dead.

Sergeant McGuire, a member of the 36th division, was buried in a military cemetery in eastern France, the War department said.
