He resided in Pennsylvania prior to the war.
He enlisted in the Army on October 21, 1942 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of the enlistment, as being employed in construction and also as Single, without dependents.
Earl was declared "Missing In Action" during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Earl's remains were recovered in 1962 from a private cemetery in the little town of Herlisheim, France and he is now interred in the Springtown Cemetery, Springtown, Pennsylvania!
