PAUL F. DIX IS ILLNESS VICTIM
Paul F. Dix, 63, widely known Decatur real estate and insurance dealer, and one of this section's best known citizens, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at his home, 304 Line street. He had been ill for some time.

Funeral rites will be conducted at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon at First Baptist Church by Rev. W.E. Waterhouse, the pastor and McAfee and Young will be in charge of burial at City Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be: E.D. Bailey, Ben F. Thornton Sr. W.M. Voorhies, R.E. Rogers, W.B. Neher, J.T. Nelson and Harry Wyatt while deacons of First Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers. The Woman's Missionary Society will have charge of flowers.

Surviving Mr. Dix are his widow; two daughters, Misses Mary Vernon Dix and Nell Beach Dix, of Decatur; two sons, O.P. Dix, of Mobile; Frank Dix, of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, L.D.Dix of Mobile and P.C. Dix, of Harrisburg, Pa; a sister, Mrs. J.M. Hall of Montgomery.

Mr. Dix was a long time member of the Baptist church, was a deacon and a member of the board of trustees. He was Scoutmaster of Troop No. 20 and a treasurer of Decatur Kiwanis Club.

Although he preferred to keep in the background he was a tireless worker in the Boy Scout field and was largely responsible for Scouting reaching the high peak it enjoys in this section today. He was one of the city's best citizens and a leader in all enterprises that made for the betterment of the community.
