Brother of Thomas Seward.

Robert, who resided in Viola, Delaware, served as a Technician Fourth Grade with Battery B, 403rd Field Artillery Battalion, 85th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on May 14, 1942 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was noted as being employed as a Driver and also as being Separated, without dependents.

He was "Killed In Action" in Italy during the war.

He had served with the Army for two years and four months at the time of his death and was decorated European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon with one battle star and a Purple Heart.
