Harry served as a Sergeant & Gunner on B-24J #42-109844, 514th Bomber Squadron, 376th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Cheshire County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on March 29, 1943 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in manufacturing and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24J #42-109844 took off from San Pancrazio, Italy on a bombing mission to Marsdorf, Germany. They were involved in a mid-air collision with B-24H #41-28951 over the Adriatic Sea north of Vieste, Italy. The cause of the collision is unknown.

Harry was declared "Missing In Action" in this collision during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
