Husband of Evelyn Camp who resided in Atlanta, Georgia.

David served as a Staff Sergeant & Engineer on B-24J #42-109844, 514th Bomber Squadron, 376th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Fulton County, Georgia prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on March 19, 1943 at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a typist and also as Married.

B-24J #42-109844 took off from San Pancrazio, Italy on a bombing mission to Marsdorf, Germany. They were involved in a mid-air collision with B-24H #41-28951 over the Adriatic Sea north of Vieste, Italy. The cause of the collision is unknown.

David was declared "Missing In Action" in this collision during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
