Medina Co. Gazette - June 13, 1944 pg 1: Capt. Reynolds is Listed Dead. Through information released by the German government to the International Red Cross, Mr. and Mrs. Leon J. Reynolds of Friendsville learned last week that their son, Capt. Robert B. Reynolds, had been killed in action. He had been reported as missing in action since April 15.
Capt. Reynolds joined the air corps in 1940 while attending Ohio State. He received his wings at Brooks Field, TX on May 29, 1941, and was appointed instructor at Stockton Field, al. Before going overseas early this February, he served as a squadron commander at Williams Fields, Ariz.
Besides his parents, he leaves two brothers, Richard with the U. S. Army in Texas and Don L. at home.

The plane Captain Robert B. Reynolds flew was the Lockheed P-38J Lightning.
