Son of Charles K. Kleinhenz.

Charles served as a Corporal & Gunner on B-24J #42-51566, 721st Bomber Squadron, 450th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Nunda, Livingston County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 17, 1943 in Buffalo, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as Single, without dependents.

Charles was "Killed in Action" when his B-24 was shot down by German flak near Vienna, Austria on mission to strike Nazi targets during the war. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
