Leroy was "Killed In Action" when his B-24 was shot down and crashed in Germany during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

B-24H #41-28749 was the first plane assigned to the 467th Bomber Group that was lost in enemy territory during the war.

Leroy was the son of Janie D. Hill who resided in Mabelvale, Arkansas.
