Son of Mrs. Effie A. Haserlat who resided in New Port, New Hampshire.

Robert served as a Staff Sergeant & Gunner on B-24 #??, 764th Bomber Squadron, 461st Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Sullivan County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on June 16, 1943 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.

Robert was "Killed In Action" when his B-24, while on a bombing mission over Germany, exploded in mid-air and crashed during the war. The cause noted by the Air Force was that either they were hit by German ground anti-aircraft fire or possibly by a bomb being released from a bomber above.

He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
