Son of William J. Brohm, Jr. who resided in Fanwood, New Jersey.

William served as a Second Lieutenant & Bombardier on B-24H "Gallopin Ghost" #42-7714 in the 722nd Bomber Squadron, 450th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Union County, New Jersey prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on March 13, 1942 in Newark, New Jersey. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Laboratory technician and/or assistant and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24H #42-7714 took off from Manduria, Italy on a bombing mission over Regensburg, Germany. After "bombs away" they were attacked by German ME-109 fighters and were seen to be damaged by others on other flights. They crashed in Germany during the war.

William was "Killed In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart.
