Lloyd served as a Technical Sergeant & Left Waist Gunner on B-24H #42-95233, 732nd Bomber Squadron, 453rd Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Onondaga County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on January 7, 1942 in Syracuse, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Skilled Inspector and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24H #42-95233 took off, with a crew of 10, from Station 144, England on an operational mission over Pont-à-Vendin, France.

Over Belgium they were hit and shot down by ground anti-aircraft fire and crashed near Oostduinkerke, Belgium.

Lloyd was "Killed In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the "Distinguished Flying Cross", Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Purple Heart.
