Son of Mr and Mrs Andrew Bauerline who resided in Littlestown, Pennsylvania.

Vernon served as a Sergeant & Top Turret Gunner on B-17G #42-31634, 324th Bomber Squadron, 91st Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Baltimore County, Maryland prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on March 1, 1943 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was noted as being employed in the building of aircraft and also as Married.

Vernon was "Killed In Action" when his B-17 was shot down and crashed in Germany during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
