Vermont Ole Anderson, Son of Gideon and Rouva Hilma Anderson, husband of Betty Helen Donahoo of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota USA... Vermont was served with the USAAF in WWII and lost his life when his plane, B17G 43-38211 100th Bomber Group crashed near Oberkotzau, Landkreis Hof, Bavaria, Germany...

The airplane was hit by enemy fighters just after bombs away. The right wing burst into flames and it fell off on his right wing, spinning down into the ground. It was almost completely in flames when it fell from formation.
