Humboldt, TN - Funeral services for William Odell Blakely, age 83, will be at 11 AM Today, August 7, 2010 in the chapel of Replogle-Lawrence Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Espy and Rev. Jackie Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.
Mr. Blakely, a retired carpenter, died August 5, 2010 in Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Gibson County, TN, son of the late W.U. and Bessie Mayo Blakely, and received his education in the county schools. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was Baptist in belief. Mr. Blakely was a member of VFW Post 4798 in Trenton.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shelby Terry Blakely; a son, Chuck Plunkett and wife Jeanette of Humboldt; two grandchildren, Kristin Plunkett and Kaitlyn Plunkett; two brothers, Bobby Blakely of Trenton and Donald Blakely of Atlanta, Georgia and a sister, Sue Sims of Flint, Michigan.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Harold and Bill Blakely and sister, Peggy Young and Dorothy McEwen
