Adaline was the daughter of Silas Rawson and his wife Rebecca Fellows.

Adaline Rawson, b. August 05, 1790, Palmyra, Wayne, New York; d. March 29, 1830, Yates, Orleans, New York; m. Dr. Elisha Bowen b. January 26, 1791; d. April 16, 1863, Yates, Orleans, New York.

"Elisha Bowen at the age of twenty six married and settled in Palmyra, NY where his wife Mehetable Bryant, died, and where he married Adeline Rawson, a very dear friend of Mehetable, who, about to die, put the hand of Adeline into the hand of Elisha. The next year, this couple married, removed to Yates, Orleans, Co. NY. In 1822, the following year, Dr Elisha assisted in the organization of the Baptist Church there. He was its clerk for many years, and all his life he was a leading member, a righthand man of the pastor.

"Too brief was the career of the gentle Adeline-only nine years, Four little ones survied her. To fill her place, Heaven vouchsaged the affectionate and unselfish Mary Ann Clark, and so two families grew up together as one."
