On October 28, 1945, Henry was united in marriage to Emma Burgin at the Peace Church Parsonage in Elkader. Following their marriage, Henry and Emma moved to the Rodas family farm where they lived and farmed until 1959. At this time, they purchased a farm near Littleport, where they resided until September, 2005, when they moved into Edgewood.
Farming and animals, especially horses, was Henry's life. He also worked at the Elkader Sales Barn for thirty years and the Edgewood Sales Barn for eight years.
He was survived by his wife, Emma, Edgewood.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents.
