Services for Teresa M. Hay French, 29, 716 W. Cromer Ave., will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Meeks Mortuary with Rev. Max Downs and Rev. A. Richard Veach officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday or before services Monday.

Mrs. French died Thursday in her home. She was born in Muncie, attended Muncie schools and was a 1981 graduate of Northside High School.

Survivors include three children, Kent, Audrea, and Brock French; her mother and step-father, Virginia and Carl Wilson, New Castle; a brother, Tony Hay (wife-Becki), Muncie; a sister, Jennifer Nye (husband-Jeff), Muncie; a grandmother, Lola Hay, New Castle; three step-sisters, Tina Jane Palmer (husband-Bill), New Castle, Saundra Bryant (husband-Chris), Tulsa, Okla., and Monica Kissinger (husband-Anthony), Mooreland; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her father, Bill Hay, is deceased.

IN LATE 2008, TONY FRENCH WAS FOUND GUILTY OF MURDER AND CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MURDER IN THE DEATH OF TERESA FRENCH AND SENTENCED TO 80 YEARS IN PRISON. IN EARLY 2009, DAVID WOODS WAS FOUND GUILTY OF MURDER AND CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MURDER IN THE DEATH OF TERESA FRENCH AND SENTENCED TO 100 YEARS IN PRISON.

The 29-year-old, Teresa M. Hay French, mother of three children, was in the process of divorcing her husband, Tony French, when she was shot to death in the garage of the family's West Cromer Avenue home in Muncie, Indiana.

Nearly 15 years later, Tony French and a former Daleville resident, Jess David Woods, were arrested in the case. Authorities said French had paid Woods $5,000 to kill his wife.

Both men were convicted in jury trials in 2008 and 2009. French is serving an 80-year sentence, while Woods received a 100-year sentence.
