Watson served as a Private, Company H, 1st Delaware Infantry during the Civil War.

He enlisted in the 1st Delaware on September 13, 1861 for a 3 year term. He was noted as being 40 years old and resided in Wilmington, Delaware prior to the war.

Watson "Died Of Disease" ( Dysentery ) near Falmouth, Virginia during the war.

He was noted as being interred near Falmouth, VA and is possibly interred in the Fredericksburg National Cemetery as an unknown soldier.
