George served as a Sergeant on B-24L (#44-49024), 830th Bomber Squadron, 485th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Alameda County, California prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on April 22, 1942 at Stockton Field, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Farmer and also as Single, without dependents.

George was "Killed In Action" when his B-24 was hit by flak and crashed 15 miles West South West of Venosa, Italy during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

Son of Mrs. Elizabeth Bennington who resided in Oakland, California.
