Son of Mrs. John Labonte who resided in Somersworth, New Hampshire.

Neil served as a First Lieutenant & Pilot on A-20 #41-3468, 97th Bomber Squadron, 47th Bomber Group, Light, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Rockingham County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on March 4, 1941, prior to the war, in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a mechanic and also as Single, without dependents.

A-20 #41-3468 was returning from a mission over France to Corsica. The control tower was in contact with them but then lost all communication. The A-20 was later noted as crashing at sea off Corsica during the war.

Neil was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
