Son of Arthur A. Rosendale and Eva Mahan Rosendale.

Alfred, who resided on River Road, New Castle, Delaware, served as a Sergeant with the 531st Engineer Shore Regiment, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Delaware National Guard on September 16, 1940, prior to the war, in Wilmington, Delaware. He was noted as being employed as a mechanic and also as being Single, without dependents.

He was "Killed In Action" in Sicily during the war.

He had served in the Army for two years and six months at the time of his death and was decorated with a Purple Heart.

He was first interred at GELA Cemetery in plot-grave C-34-399 on July 25, 1943 and later re-interred here.
