Jimmy served with the Rangers in the invasions at Sicily and Salerno, at Venafro, and the Invasion of Anzio. He was serving with the Rangers at the time of his death. (Have suffered extensive losses at Anzo, the 6615 Ranger Force was disbanded within the week that followed his death. Surviving Rangers were re-assigned, most to 1st Special Service Force or to the other Ranger Battalions preparing for the Normandy Invasion.)
