Husband of Janina Cruse Krantz.

Harold, who resided in St. George's, Delaware, served as a Technician Fifth Grade with Company C, 403rd Field Artillery Battalion, 85th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on May 14, 1942 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.

He was married sometime after his enlistment.

Harold was "Killed In Action" in Italy while substituting as a cannoneer in one of the sections firing batteries.

He had served in the Army for one year and eleven months at the time of his death.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

His brother, Staff Sergeant Howard Linwood Krantz, was also "Killed In Action" during the war.
