George, who resided at 54 West Third Street, New Castle, Delaware, served as a Private First Class with the 141st Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He was "Killed In Action" at Mount Lungo, Italy and was awarded the Purple Heart.
