EXETER MAN KILLED
Second Lt. A. Sumner Wetherell USA, son of Albert S. Wetherell of Exeter, is listed by the war department as killed in action in Germany, where he was commander of a platoon. Lieuterant Wetherell was born in Exeter Feb. 24, 1917, and was graduated from Exeter high school. He was active as a boy scout leader before entering the service three years ago. He received his training at Camp Hood, Texas and Camp Wheeler, Georgia. and had been in an anti-tank corps before being transferred to the infantry. A sister, Elizabeth Wetherell is in the WAVES.
