Gradauted from Bartlesville High School in 1942 then attended Kemper Military Academy in Booneville, MO. He joined the Army Air Corps September 1943. His Basic Training was at Shepherd Field, TX then sent to Helingen, TX for Gunnery School. He was sent to England and assgined as a Tail Gunner on a B-24 in the 448th Bomb Group based at Seething. He flew gunner on bombing missions in support of D-Day and the Battle of St. LO, bombed the Ball Bearing plant at Berlin, German aircraft factories at Gotha and the U-Boat facilities at Kiel. They also bombed the Marshalling Yards at Cologne, Synthetic Oil Refinery at Pilotz and the Buzz Bomb assembly plant at Fallersleben. His B-24 was shot down by enemy fire and his body was not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Tables of the Missing at the American Cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands.
