Harry served as a Staff Sergeant & Tail Gunner on B-17F #42-3056, 527th Bomber Squadron, 379th Bomber Group, 8th Air Force, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

Harry normally flew with the 524th Bomber Squadron but was assigned, or volunteered, for this flight.

He resided in Pennsylvania prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on August 31, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a asbestos and insulation worker and also as Single, without dependents.

Harry was "Killed In Action" when his B-17 was attacked by German aircraft causing them to crashed near Singhofen, 12 miles southwest of Limburg, Germany during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
