Brother of Sidney Mazur who resided in Brooklyn, New York.

Irving served as a Staff Sergeant & Left Waist Gunner on B-24H #42-52105, 714th Bomber Squadron, 448th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Kings County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on December 11, 1941 in New York City, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Office Clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24H #42-52105 took off from Seething, England on a bombing mission over Osnabruck, Germany. While over the target they were hit by enemy ground flak and then attacked by multiple fighter planes. They eventually crashed into the North Sea due to severe damage during the war.

Irving was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
