Brother of Mrs. Ethel M. Allen who resided in Bridgewater, Connecticut.

Algoth served as a Staff Sergeant & Engineer / Gunner on B-26G #43-34406, 494th Bomber Squadron, 344th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Fairfield County, Connecticut prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on March 25, 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Single, without dependents.

B-26G #43-34406 took off on a bombing mission over Venlo, Holland. They were hit by ground enemy anti-aircraft fire and were seen going down in a ball of fire and crash north of Venlo during the war.

Algoth was "Killed In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded an Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
