Ralph served as a Captain & Pilot/Mission Commander on B-17G #44-8140, 850th Bomber Squadron, 490th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in the District Of Columbia prior to the war.

Ralph was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-17 was hit by enemy flak and crashed in Gross Zerlang, Germany during the war.

He was awarded and Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart.
