Henry served as a Staff Sergeant, Mortar Squad, Company H, 2nd Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on December 14, 1940, prior to the war, in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being Single, without dependents.

Henry was declared "Missing In Action" near Aachen, Germany during the war.

He was awarded the "Silver Star" with one Oak Leaf Cluster and the "Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster" and the Purple Heart.
