Theodore served as a Staff Sergeant & Left Waist Gunner on B-24D #42-63969, 409th Bomber Squadron, 93th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Chittenden County, Vermont prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on January 8, 1942 in Rutland, Vermont. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the manufacture of textiles and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24D #42-63969 took off from Station 104, England on a bombing mission over Osnabruck, Germany. They were hit by intense enemy flak and crashed in Holland during the war.

Theodore was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash.

He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
