The first son of Glen Campbell has given his life for his country. He is John P. Androsky, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Androsky, who was awarded the Purple Heart on D-Day. After being in the battle, Androsky was wounded. Following his recovery he returned the fight and lost his life during the battle of Opheusden, Holland on October 5. His parents were officially notified that he was killed in action. He was a member of St. Michael´s Church in Glen Campbell.

He was a PFC in Company G, 506 PIR 101st Screaming Eagles Airborne Division.
