Edmonde served as a Staff Sergeant & Left Waist Gunner on B-17F "Angel's Tit" #42-3260, 349th Bomber Squadron, 100th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Fulton County, Georgia prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on June 4, 1941, prior to the war, at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a mechanic and also as Single, without dependents.

Edmonde was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-17 was hit by a German aircraft 20 miles north of the Frisian Island and exploded and crashed into the North Sea during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
