MACR 887: (after the bomb-run on the Focke-Wulf aircraft plant at Anklam, Germany; last seen north of Trexel Island, Holland). His B-17 bomber left the formation with the #1 engine smoking and was attacked by German fighters, knocking out #2 and #3 engines. The aircraft exploded as it crashed into North Sea.
