Thomas, who resided at 1320 West Third Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Private with the 862nd Engineer Battalion, Aviation, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on October 21, 1942 in Camden, New Jersey. He was noted as Single, without dependents.

He was killed in a fall from a motor vehicle in Europe during the war.

He had served in the Air Corps for nine months at the time of his death.

Mass was said by the Rev. John at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, fourth and Jackson Streets, today for Private Thomas J. McCormick, 22 years old, of 1320 West Third Street, member of an Air Force crew, who was killed overseas this month. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. McCormick. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. John Bergen, Miss Catherine McCormick and Miss Anne McCormick
