Captain Mccormick was a Ploesti Raider having flown the Vagabond King in "Operation Tidal Wave" where he was awarded the Silver Star and DFC.

Mccormick appears in the Ploesti raid roster and on the Missing air crew report as 1st Lieutenant. However he is listed as captain on the Cambridge wall of the missing. Captain Mccormick may have been promoted posthumously.
