Son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward John Lausted who resided in Buffalo, New York.


John served as a Quartermaster, Third Class, U.S.S. Glennon (DD-620), U.S. Navy during World War II.


He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war.


John was declared "Missing In Action" when the Glennon struck a mine off Normandy during the war and was awarded a Purple Heart. Two days later the Glennon was sunk by German shore batteries.
